a hut in a village.
many huts like this in deep mountains.
Sometimes their houses have a deck, just like American houses.
The Wa men like smoking.
The girl is dying. She is 10 years old, but weighs only 30 some pounds. No doctors available in mountains.
Two women missionaries, one standing in China while the other standing in Burma.
This is the only toy I had seen during this trip of mine to the Wa trip.
Buddy, buddy.
a village
A village.
Our missionary visits the Wa family one by one. She had just visited one family.
The only basketball court in the whole region.
The Wa people all can walk on water!
Our missionary has learned how to cook local way. In a lot of regions, there is no electricity, no tap water.
This is one of the schools our missionaries are teaching.
This Wa family has eight children. It is quite common for a family with ten children.
Buffaloes are important to the Wa people.
The mountain people are friendly and will treat our people very well, though they don't have much at all.
Five of our missionaries in a classroom.
Now the children finally have a school to attend. They learn Maths, English and some other courses.
This family is drying their grains, and they don't have enough food.
This is another school.
Our missionaries visit a family after the school time.
They are in dire poverty, but children seem quite happy.
Parents take their children to sign up for school.
Roads
That is this building? It is a school. This school is shut down because no teach is willing to come and teach. Now that has changed after our missionaries arrived.
Inside the school building.
They all have hungry eyes for education. Before too long, they will find truth.
