My Trip to Burma in September, 2013

Young people of the Wa are already studying the Bible.

The Children in rags.

Our two women missionaries in big mountains.

Our missionary praying.

Pig feet are the favorite food of local people.

Our missionaries and local people.

Please notice the village at the top of the mountains. At first I could not understand why they would take trouble building their villages at the top and why not at the foot of the mountains to save trouble of climbing. I was told that mudslide would wash them and their houses away easily during the rainy season if built at the lower part.

This is the border creek. The local people came and helped us ship our luggage. All of the missionary belongings are in one suitcase.

Brother Dai, our missionary is preaching the Gospel among the Wa adults.

Our missionary is sharing the Bible story with the Wa children. They love to hear Jesus story. They can sit there for hours just for the Bible story.

In September, 2013, I met a group of Lahu Christians. Lahu people are like the Wa people in mountains but are different in that they have their own language and in that they were led to Christ one hundred years ago by the Baptist missionaries. Lahu Christians are also in dire poverty.

A local house.

This is a big beautiful local house made of wood. Actually you don't find many houses like this.

In September, I took another three across the border into the Wa state of Burma.

He is my interpreter.

There are drenches everywhere, making it difficult for motorcycles.

The Wa people worship the Golden Cow. Please note two women sitting at its foot, so you have an idea how big the statue is.
